About the author

Patrick Makin’s first job as a writer was as a war correspondent in Yemen, before he moved to Bristol and started working as script-editor for an animation production company. The Adventurous Kid’s Guide to the World’s Most Mysterious Places is his first book for children. He lives in Bristol. Whooli Chen works with a delicate palette and sensitive painterly layers that take whimsical illustration to another realm. Chen studied a master’s in illustration at the University of the Arts London, where she found a muse in an urban street fox. She lives in Australia.
