Code Check Electrical 10th Edition

Redwood Kardon created the first Code Check in 1995 when he was employed as an electrical inspector by the City of Oakland, California, and was tasked with becoming a “combination inspector” to also inspect building, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Code Check evolved out of his original notes as he studied to obtain his certifications in those other fields. Prior to his 13 years of employment by Oakland, he was a working electrician for ten years. After retirement he became a traveling electrical code instructor and has conducted classes and safety audits at government, military, and industrial facilities around the country, as well as training for electrical contractors and inspectors. He currently resides in Philadelphia. Douglas Hansen has been in the construction industry for over 50 years. He is a licensed general contractor and also holds numerous inspector certifications. He has been a senior electrical inspector and plans examiner in Silicon Valley, and taught extensively around the country on a wide range of construction topics. For several years he taught residential and commercial electrical codes at the College of San Mateo. He is a principal member on the technical committee for Electrical Systems Maintenance of the National Fire Protection Association. Since the early 2000s he has been the principal author of the Code Check series. This book is the 40th edition in the series. Skip Walker operates a successful home inspection business in San Bruno, California, and is an active member of the American Society of Home Inspectors and the California Real Estate Inspection Association. He has been acknowledged with the highest honors for lifetime contribution to each of those associations. He holds numerous ICC certifications and also teaches in the College of San Mateo Building Inspector Degree Program. His inspection of Douglas Hansen’s house provided Hansen with an endless to-do list. Glenn Mathewson is the most recent addition to the Code Check team. He is a former builder and a former inspector for the City of Westminster, Colorado. Mathewson has 17 ICC code certifications and was only the second person in Colorado to earn the Master Code Professional Certification. He is the author of Deck Construction Based on the 2021 International Residential Code and a frequent contributor to Fine Homebuilding magazine and the Journal of Light Construction. Mathewson is a highly sought-after instructor on a wide range of building code topics and presents in-person seminars around the country as well as the offerings on the BuildingCodeCollege.com website. He was recognized as Educator of the Year in 2021 by the International Code Council.
