DIARY OF A WIMPY KID BOOK 10 TO BE PUBLISHED SIMULTANEOUSLY WORLDWIDE ON NOVEMBER 3, 2015!

Unprecedented Global Release Sets the Stage For Biggest Around-the-World Author Tour Ever

NEW YORK, NY, March 26, 2015—At least eighteen international publishers will unite to simultaneously release and publish a milestone volume in the blockbuster Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Book 10, an all-new original story by bestselling author Jeff Kinney, will go on sale in more than 90 countries around the world on November 3, 2015. As one of the most anticipated books of the year everywhere, fans will herald its arrival.

In November, bestselling author Jeff Kinney will embark on an unprecedented tour around the world, a first for the series. Jeff will be featured in international media and will meet tens of thousands of fans during author events held in major venues. All publicity, marketing, and social-media promotions will be coordinated on a global scale with all publisher partners.

“For me, the most surprising thing about Diary of a Wimpy Kid has been how kids of different cultures around the world have embraced Greg Heffley,” says Jeff Kinney. “I’m very excited that we’re able to simultaneously publish in so many languages, and I’m eager to meet as many fans as I can across the world.”

Diary of a Wimpy Kid book 10—originating from ABRAMS’s Amulet imprint—will go on sale for publishing houses in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Australia, Turkey, Greece, Japan, Brazil, Spain, Romania, Portugal, Hungary, Sweden, Taiwan, Lithuania, Latvia, and Norway. A striking, original new teaser image Jeff Kinney featuring Greg Heffley accompanies this release.

“Few series have the staying power of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and fewer still have the global reach that these books have achieved,” says Michael Jacobs, president and CEO of ABRAMS. “We, and our publishing partners around the world, are thrilled to be able to bring Jeff’s new book, the tenth in this ongoing series—a milestone in itself—to as many kids as possible around the world at once.”

The cover of book 10 will be revealed in New York City on April 27 at 9:30 a.m. EST by Jeff Kinney with XM Sirius satellite radio’s kids’ host Absolutely Mindy, to a live audience of Wimpy Kid fans and through a webcast available worldwide live. It will then be available on www.wimpykid.com.

The second annual Wimpy Kid Month, established in 2014, begins April 1 and is a celebration of reading, writing, and all things Greg Heffley. Beginning with April Fool’s Day and ending with the reveal of the cover of the latest book in the series, people everywhere will celebrate Wimpy Kid’s ability to get kids hooked on reading through events, social media, and much more.

Published in 2007, the first Diary of a Wimpy Kid book was an instant bestseller, and just a year later, more than 100,000 copies were in print in the United States alone. With each subsequent book, in-print numbers continue to grow exponentially both here and abroad. The ninth book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, sold over 2 million copies in all formats around the world in its first week. There are more than 150 million copies of the series in print.
