New York, NY – September 10, 2014 –ABRAMS will launch Abrams Noterie, a new gift and stationery imprint with a discerning design sensibility that is consistent with the ABRAMS brand. Drawing from the ABRAMS adult and children’s lists, as well as original acquisitions, the Abrams Noterie line will consist of guided and blank journals, notecards, postcards, desk accessories, small gift books, and other inventive paper product formats. The first products will debut in February 2015.

“The addition of a stationery and gift imprint is a natural extension of what ABRAMS creates—books and paper products that stand alone as beautiful objects, thoughtfully designed, produced, and inspired by our clear aesthetic sense. With Abrams Noterie, we will offer something that resonates in the marketplace, something of note,” says Michael Jacobs, CEO of ABRAMS.

To create this new imprint, Jacobs brought in Karrie Witkin, whose experience includes senior positions at Potter Style and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, to lead the acquisition and editorial initiative in a newly created role of Editorial Director, Gift and Paper Products. Witkin’s creative team includes Associate Art Director Hana Nakamura, who previously worked for Mucca Design.

“It is incredibly exciting to introduce this new line at ABRAMS–one that draws from our focus on art, design, and pop culture. Each list is an opportunity to collaborate with all kinds of creative types to make goods that are engaging, stylish, and clearly a product of the original creator,” says Witkin.

The first Abrams Noterie list will consist of four product collections and two unique journals.  The four collections include: Hyperbole and a Half, featuring the beloved characters from Allie Brosh’s web comic and bestselling book; Daily Dishonesty by designer Lauren Hom, who turns the little lies we tell ourselves into lovely pieces of hand-lettered art; The Forest Feast, which is styled, photographed, and illustrated by food and lifestyle bloggerErin Gleeson; and Paris Street Style, which includes a gold-stamped journal and a set of striped notebooks.  Two unique journals are also part of Abrams Noterie’s spring list: Baby’s First Year Photo Gallery, an album with 12 monthly photo cards, and The King’s Country Distillery: Whiskey Notes, a tasting journal and home-distilling notebook with an American Whiskey Family Tree poster.  For a full view of Abrams Noterie products and to learn more about Abrams Noterie, visit http://www.abramsnoterie.com.
