DIARY OF A WIMPY KID 14 TITLE AND COVER REVEALED:

WRECKING BALL SWINGS INTO BOOKSTORES THIS FALL

The latest book from the #1 international bestselling author Jeff Kinney will be published on November 5, 2019

New York, NY (May 14, 2019)—Amulet Books, an imprint of Abrams Children’s Books, revealed today the title and cover of the eagerly anticipated fourteenth installment in the global bestselling series by Jeff Kinney, Wrecking Ball (Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book 14). In Wrecking Ball, an unexpected inheritance gives the Heffley family a chance to make major improvements to their home. But they soon find that construction isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. When things get rough, will the Heffleys be able to stay . . . or will they be forced to move? Wrecking Ball will be published simultaneously around the world on November 5, 2019.

The title and cover of Wrecking Ball (Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book 14) were revealed as part of a multipronged social media influencer campaign beginning with Scary Mommy, one of the largest parenting and family social media influencer accounts, and will be subsequently shared by a second wave of influential social media partners, resulting in millions of views and impressions. The reveal kicks off a summer-themed marketing campaign starting at BookExpo and BookCon that includes Wimpy Kidbranded street teams offering Greg Heffley tote bags and decals; advertising in the Hudson Yards subway station in New York City; and a Diary of a Wimpy Kid Read-A-Rama program for independent bookstores to encourage kids to read throughout the summer and includes special prizing. The summer campaign leads fans into major marketing and publicity promotions this fall around the publication of Wrecking Ball (Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book 14), including a global author tour.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are published in 74 editions in 62 languages. More than 200 million copies of the books in the series have been sold globally. Published in 2007, the first book was an instant bestseller and has remained on the New York Times bestseller list since its publication and through the release of the thirteenth book for more than 655 weeks total. The series is also a fixture on the USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, and IndieBound bestseller lists.

The Diary of a Wimpy Kid spinoff book Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid was published in April 2019 and was an instant #1 New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Publishers Weekly bestseller in the US, and reached #1 in every country in which it was published.
