She has also worked as an editor at the New York Times, Time, ArtForum, the Paris Review, and the Moscow Times. David Friend, Vanity Fair’s editor of creative development, has co-edited 13 VF books. Formerly the director of photography of Life, he is also an Emmy-winning documentary producer. Alan Cumming is a Tony Award-winning actor of stage and screen, a novelist and memoirist, and a Grammy and multiple Golden Globe nominee, as well as the co-owner of the Manhattan cabaret Club Cumming.
