Daniel José Older is the New York Times bestselling author of the middle-grade historical fantasy series Dactyl Hill Squad, the Bone Street Rumba urban fantasy series, Star Wars: Last Shot, and the award winning Young Adult series the Shadowshaper Cypher, which won the International Latino Book Award and was shortlisted for the Kirkus Prize in Young Readers’ Literature, the Andre Norton Award, the Locus, the Mythopoeic Award, and named one of Esquire’s 80 Books Every Person Should Read. He has written for The New York Times, TIME Magazine, Buzzfeed, Salon, The Guardian, and other publications and he has been an initiated priest of Yemaya in the Lucumi tradition since 2010.
Baba Malik Duncan was born and raised in New York City in a family of artists and activists, surrounded by ideas of Black Nationalism and the sounds of hip hop, as well as the classical music his mother played at home. He was initiated in the Lucumi religion as an omo Elegba in the late 90s and he’s a diviner, godparent and teacher in his tradition.
CHUCK “DRAGONBLACK” COLLINS is a freelance artist and animator of Haitian descent based in Brooklyn, NY, where he serves as the lead artist at RatRonin Studios. From the supernatural, punk project Aspects to Chuck’s Dread Society X. His art is a mixture of the visual culutre of hip hop, graffiti, and punk mixed with the influences of Japanese anime and manga. His long-running webcomic Bounce is a multiple Glyph Comics Award winning series that is inspired by his time as a bouncer for a New York City night club. Chuck is an over twenty-year veteran of the graphic arts industry and is a highly skilled and critically acclaimed storyboard artist, cartoonist, art director, and animator.
