CABIN FEVER TAKES HOLD AS THE WIMPY KID ROLLING BLIZZARD
BLASTS STORES IN SIX CONSECUTIVE MEGA SNOW EVENTS
FEATURING #1 BESTSELLING AUTHOR JEFF KINNEY

IT'S A WIMPY WONDERLAND AS 6 MILLION COPIES OF DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: CABIN FEVER—THE BIGGEST BOOK RELEASE OF THE YEAR—REACH FANS EVERYWHERE ON NOVEMBER 15, 2011

NEW YORK, NY, October 12, 2011—Amulet Books, an imprint of ABRAMS, announces an unprecedented book tour experience for fans of Jeff Kinney's #1 bestselling series. The Wimpy Kid Rolling Blizzard will hit six stores in cities along Jeff Kinney's fall tour route in celebration of the 6-million-copy release of DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: CABIN FEVER, the sixth book in the bestselling series. Taking cues from the storyline of the new book, the unique traveling snowstorm will feature real snow made on-site at each event by the Wimpy Kid snow truck, custom-designed Wimpy Kid games, winter-weather refreshments, and more. Upon publication of Cabin Fever, there will be over 58 million copies in print of the Wimpy Kid series in North America.

"We wanted to do something really special to celebrate the release of Cabin Fever, which has a winter theme. We thought it would be a lot of fun to travel down the coast with a snow-making truck and to create an instant blizzard at our big stops," said #1 bestselling author Jeff Kinney. "We're especially excited to visit places where the kids have never seen snow!"

Thousands of fans are expected to attend the six snow-filled events. The Wimpy Kid Rolling Blizzard tour starts on the launch day, November 15, at the Barnes & Noble in Cherry Hill, NJ. It continues south to Politics & Prose, Washington D.C., on November 16; bggb books, Richmond, VA, on November 17; Park Road Books in Charlotte, NC, on November 18; Little Shop of Stories in Decatur, GA, on November 19; and culminates at the Miami Book Festival on Sunday, November 20. Jeff Kinney will also speak to school groups on behalf of booksellers along the route and sign books at the Books-A-Million store in Kissimmee, FL, on November 21. The free tickets are limited in number, while supplies last, and distribution is handled by each store.

"Bringing the biggest book of the year—available only in print—to market needs to be done with an avalanche of clever marketing," said Michael Jacobs, president and CEO of ABRAMS. "Jeff Kinney and friends will celebrate the release with fans while on tour through the Southeast next month, but the release of Cabin Fever is a national moment to celebrate reading and the printed word at bookstores, schools, retailers, at home, and at libraries across the nation."
