“Achieving the extraordinary number of 200 million copies sold of any book series is rare—only a handful have reached that milestone in our time. Now, more than ten years after its initial publication, Diary of a Wimpy Kid continues to grow in terms of sales and impact both in North America and in the 65 editions and 56 languages in which it is published around the world. ABRAMS, along with all of Jeff Kinney’s global publishers, is thrilled to have helped the books to surpass this goal. We look forward to breaking new ground and, with at least twenty books planned in the series, we’re confident that the sky is the limit. Zoo-Wee Mama! Onward and upward!”

2017 marked the series’s tenth anniversary, and the twelfth book in the series, The Getaway, ranked #1 with retailers around the world upon publication, including Amazon in the US, Australia, and Germany, and it hit the #1 spot on multiple bestseller lists, including those published by the New York Times, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal, among others.

Published in 2007, the first book in the series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, was an instant bestseller and has remained on the New York Times bestseller list since its publication and through the release of The Getaway—more than 613 weeks total. The series is also a fixture on the USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, and IndieBound bestseller lists.
