Author Submissions

Following are general submission guidelines which apply to all publishing groups currently accepting proposals:

 

  • Email submissions will not be accepted.
  • Artists and illustrators may submit tear sheets or color copies of their works.
  • All visual material must be sent in printed form (no digital media).
  • Materials WILL NOT be returned. DO NOT send original materials, transparencies or disks.
  • We do not accept responsibility for any materials sent.
  • ABRAMS will contact you if interested.
  • Please allow up to six months for a response.

ABRAMS:
Unfortunately, due to the volume of submissions we have received, Abrams does not accept unsolicited book proposals at this time.

 

STEWART, TABORI & CHANG and ABRAMS APPLESEED:
Unfortunately, due to the volume of submissions received the Stewart, Tabori & Chang and Abrams Appleseed imprints do not accept unsolicited book proposals at this time.


 

ABRAMS BOOKS FOR YOUNG READERS & AMULET BOOKS
Due to the large volume received,
Abrams Books for Young Readers and Amulet Books cannot accept unsolicited works of fiction (picture books, novels, or related formats).

 

We do accept nonfiction manuscripts. For nonfiction picture books (manuscripts of 20 pages or less), please submit the entire manuscript for review. For longer works, please submit a table of contents, sample chapter, and synopsis (chapter by chapter). If other books already exist on the subject, provide the title, author, publisher and year of copyright (or publication) for these competing books and explain how your work differs.
